Good Morning Sargent Community!

The PTO hopes that everyone had a great weekend!  Please see below for all new Sargent PTO news!

Please Save the Date for an upcoming Sargent Dining for Dollars night at Taki's North Andover on Tuesday, November 10th!  From 4:00 to 9:00 pm, the Xenakis family has generously offered to donate a portion of ALL of their sales back to the Sargent School!  Please consider ordering pizza, wings, sandwiches, dinner plates, or any of their delicious food that evening to benefit our school!

Our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Courtney Ahearn, has compiled a Sargent Library Wish List on Amazon.  Our hope is that students will be able to use the library and check out books at some point this school year.  Feel free to choose from her selections to donate to the school library!  It would be greatly appreciated.

Also, please return any outstanding books from last year as soon as you can!  The library will accept them back at any time. Thank you!

Plans are in the making for an online book fair this fall.  Stay tuned!

New Staff Picnic Tables!

The Sargent PTO was honored to be able to provide the school with two outdoor picnic tables for our teachers and staff.  Due to COVID restrictions, very few teachers are permitted to be in the Sargent teachers' room at one time.  The PTO wanted to help our dedicated staff to have a place to sit and relax outdoors while enjoying their lunch!

Sargent Masks are Still on Sale!

A very big thank you to local merchant (and Mom!) Rachel Bedard at b. designed for our amazing
Sargent Shark cloth face masks!
Masks are still on sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
Our school receives a portion of sales with every purchase, and we have earned almost $500 thus far!

Be Sure to Check Out the Sargent Nurse's Page!

Let's try to keep our school as healthy as possible!

North Andover Schools Enrichment Council
NORTH ANDOVER SCHOOLS ENRICHMENT COUNCIL is a volunteer-run, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Founded in 1986, their mission is to support, strengthen and enrich the North Andover school curriculum by providing in-school cultural and educational programs in the Sciences and Humanities.  North Andover Schools Enrichment Council (NASEC) is supported by North Andover PTOs, grants, and generous private donations.  It is comprised of representatives from each of the five elementary schools and the middle school.  Our Sargent Elementary NASEC representatives are Lisa Meldrim and Maureen McLean. To find out more information about NASEC, visit their website or check them out on Facebook too!

Understanding Our Differences
UOD reinforces our RAISE values, increases tolerance, reduces bullying and fosters respect, acceptance and compassion for people of all abilities.  The curriculum covers autism, physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and chronic medical conditions such as allergies, asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy.  Detailed information on each unit will be sent to parents of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students prior to the day of the event and is also available on the UOD website.

The UOD program is presented by parent volunteers, and volunteers are needed at all North Andover schools! This is an excellent opportunity to share time in the classroom with your own child or to get to know other parents and students, and it encourages friendship and empathy for people with disabilities in our community.   You can volunteer at ANY school in town- it does not have to be the school your child attends!  Questions and additional information regarding volunteering for UOD can be directed to UODofNA@gmail.com.  No experience with disabilities is necessary! All training takes place online and can be completed in under twenty minutes.  For more information on Understanding Our Differences, please click here.  Thank you so much for your support of this exciting program!

NAPAC
The North Andover Parent Advisory Council is a volunteer organization of parents with children on IEP and 504 plans. It is their mission to serve as advocates for the special needs community by promoting the understanding, respect, support, and appropriate education for all school-age children and young adults in our community. For more information, visit their website or check them out on Facebook.  Email: Northandoverpac@gmail.com
